Terms of Membership

All APL members agree to comply with The APL Terms of Membership.

 APL Terms of membership.

• Ensure that business has a current Terms and Conditions and these are available to the client.
• Comply to the elimination of unlawful and unfair discrimination in the workplace. Promote this through their own Equal Opportunities policies.
• Be responsible for Health and Safety, welfare and actions of all staff and sub-contractors.
• Maintain an up-to-date Health and Safety Policy.
• Aim to operate in an environmental and sustainable way as per their own Environmental Policies.
• Comply with all current HSE legislation.
• Always maintain a visible complaints policy/procedure for the business, be that a separate policy or within business Terms and Conditions.
• If requested by clients, offer an independent third party cease to trade warranty.
• Adhere to all requests regarding compliance to membership of the association. Respond to these requests within the parameters of time given.
• Allow access for site assessment by APL representative maximum every 18 months.
• Only provide services that are within the company’s areas of competence and always use appropriately trained and insured staff.
• Respond to client enquiries in a prompt and efficient manner.
• Identify and meet customer legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Deal with client concerns promptly, maintaining professionalism and courtesy.
• Cooperate fully with The APL complaint resolution process. (Can be obtained by contacting [email protected])
• Maintain the integrity, reputation and professionalism of The APL and the wider industry at all times. Adhere to all relevant legislation and seek to achieve the highest possible standards in business, professionalism, and workmanship.
• Adhere to all rules of membership as set out in The HTA Articles of Association.
• Accept that failure to follow these terms could result in disciplinary action and potential expulsion from The Association of Professional Landscapers.
