Courtyard Garden - Colchester
This courtyard is only 25 square metres but our clients knew they could achieve something special with this space. With views from the office, living room and bedroom this garden is a big aspect of their home. Planting bed had to be raised use to the large footing supporting the rear retaining wall, which needed to be disguised as much as possible.

Materials
Cream porcelain paving was used which feels cool in the summer yet warm in the winter. The rear wall was painted black and stainless steel training wires and corten steel screens we added to further take the wall away from sight. The raised planter are made from mild steel, which is a strong contrast to the corten planters and porcelain paving. Lush planting further softens the wall along with a living green wall on the left hand boundary to screen the fence and provide a place for our client to grow herbs.
The garden was build by Holland Landscapes.
