Courtyard Garden
The client envisioned their expansive garden, divided into a charming courtyard and a sprawling park, as a haven for family leisure and relaxation. Key desires included seamlessly integrating the driveway and commuting areas into the leisure and family zones, creating a spacious alfresco dining area, and incorporating a delightful cottage-style planting scheme. They also sought to highlight the existing stonework treasures – a weathered wall and a timeless well – while incorporating a secure, modern stairway to the upper terrace. Their vision extended beyond the courtyard, encompassing a masterplan for the park, which included a dedicated BBQ shelter, a generous leisure lawn, and the revitalisation of the park itself, potentially featuring an eye-catching element at its furthest end.

Highline Inspired
This owner of this contemporary new build in Newlands asked for a garden which suited their design led tastes. In particular, the client loved New York’s High Line – a redundant train line which was turned into a world-famous public space. The strong linear elements seen so strongly in the high line were translated into the new garden through the use of a bench, lounger seat and decking path.

Highland retreat
Settled in the Scottish woodlands, this cabin's garden was transformed into a tranquil sanctuary. Japanese influences were softly integrated in a contemporary and subtle way. Functionality was a must, so distinct levels were created in this sloped terrain. Edged with cor-ten steel bringing durability and over time providing a naturally weathered look. The elevation changes and separation of spaces, use organic lines to create a natural flow and sense of movement.

Meandering
Natural clay pavers weave an almost random path through the space, connecting the main patio built against the old stone wall to raised platforms of Siberian larch decking. These platforms seem to float amidst a sea of swaying ornamental grasses and wildflowers, creating a relaxed meadow-like effect, becoming a natural extension of the green pastures surrounding the plot. Sustainability is key here

Southside elegance
The beautifully landscaped garden features a lower patio that seamlessly extends from the open plan kitchen, creating a perfect outdoor dining area. Adding to the charm of the garden, there is an additional raised, square patio that is perfect for more laid-back gatherings. Built with decorative brick pavers in a herringbone pattern, this patio is a true centrepiece of the garden.

Tenement Treatment
The front garden of this ground-floor tenement flat is a charming oasis amidst bustling Glaswegian streets. The focal point of the garden is the beautiful mosaic pavement that leads from the custom-made gate to the main door of the flat. The intricate design of the pavement is a nod to the Victorian style of the area, adding a touch of elegance and sophistication to the garden.
