Bespoke Courtyard Garden

Creating privacy and a modern, verdant but practical entertaining space was at the heart of the brief for this town house courtyard.

Placing a pergola at the centre of the design immediately provided screening, and much needed shade for the garden, this was enhanced by the strategic planting of trees to obscure views from neighbouring windows. Visual privacy was complimented by the installation of two elegant water walls, countering outside noise with the soothing sound of water. 

The entertaining space was set on hard-wearing and easy-to-clean porcelain paving. Custom-made, built-in seating cleverly maximized the space available.  

The different elements of the garden and its sense of sanctuary was completed by a luscious planting scheme. Black fencing on the perimeter was planted with easy-to-care-for evergreen climbers which tied into dense planting in the rest of the garden.
