F.B & Sons is a family-run business that puts the needs of their customers at the forefront of everything we do. Conscientious, honest and supportive of their local community, F.B & Sons work alongside private residential projects, commercial customers and local authorities. We put our passion for outdoor spaces into everything we do, encouraging and supporting nature in our actions and helping to support the next generation of gardeners and landscapers.

In 2020, we unexpectedly lost our role model, Father and Father-in-Law, Frank Bessant. Frank was the embodiment of a family-man. Everything he had and every action he took was for his family. He had a tough life but nothing ever seemed to faze or deter him. This perseverance and resourcefulness was passed on to his children, who decided to turn their loss in to a new beginning.

After spending twenty years gaining experience with other landscaping and gardening firms, co-founder Lee brought his knowledge and skills to the fore. He has worked with many customers over the years, helping them to create and maintain their dream gardens. He has also seen how other companies operate and wanted to do things better. By joining forces with his brother Darryl, F.B and Sons was born. Darryl brought with him the skills needed to start a new business, as well as the drive and energy to learn from his older brother.

The F.B and Sons family has grown to include Frank’s Daughter-in-Law Lisa and Son-in-Law Marc, grandaughter Hannah and grandson Liam. Lisa and Marc bring their own skills and knowledge to the company, both learning along the way and helping to make projects a reality. Hannah and Liam are learning and growing to become the next generation for the business.

We are often told by customers that we feel like a refreshing change to other gardening and landscaping companies. We take pride in what we do and take great delight in seeing how happy our customers are when we finish their project. We hope we can do the same for you.

Well what can we say, we first met Daryl and Marc in August 21 to discuss our needs and due to their workload we decided to postpone our garden makeover till March 22. Throughout the week, we found the whole team very professional and hardworking, nothing was too much trouble and there was a good rapport between themselves and us, including the most important one, our cocker spaniel! Although we had agreed on a plan, the team were happy to adjust this when we changed our minds. Throughout the experience the team were on hand to answer any queries and gave sound advice including any difference in price, so there were no unexpected costs at the end. Amazing work from an amazing team. We have had a major issue with drainage in the garden and handed them the problem for a solution. Darryl proposed a pretty big plan to manage the water with soakaways and drainage channels, mixing in sand and other materials included adjusting the chemistry in the soil to deal with the clay; they absolutely know what they're taking about. A pleasure to have around whilst working and left the area spotless once the job was complete. Thanks.

Rubery Wombles have recently started to create a community garden on land given to us by Birmingham Council. We have planted apple trees and hope to grow on a wide range of vegetables and herbs (started off at home) for, and with the help of local people. Darryl, Marc and the rest of their team have been so kind and shown great interest in our project, giving their time, knowledge and the materials free of charge to make 3 large planters, plus the promise of materials to make more. F. B & Sons also donated a wonderful selection of new garden tools, preloved compost bins and wheelbarrows, plus other items for our garden and along with their supplier Davis Aggregates, have also donated a total of 6 tons of compost for our planters which is absolutely fantastic. These guys are amazing, they’ve ferried all these items round to the garden after they’ve finished work and shown a real enthusiasm in what we hope to achieve.
