Kenilworth Castle’s Elizabethan Garden was used as structural inspiration for the client’s Grade II Listed property and garden, but with a contemporary twist. This twist comes from the clever use of asymmetry, which cuts through the rectilinear geometry of the overall design. A restricted planting palette of specimen, topiary, multi-stemmed trees, grasses and perennials in greens and whites has been used to create a more intimate and tranquil space for the client to relax and unwind. A bespoke rill and reflective pool, which captures the reflection of the village church beyond the garden, brings a contemplative quality to the space.
